Water Ceremony

August 22nd 2026

Water ceremony is a gentle practice of release. Facilitated by Kathleen Lee, we ask the waters for assistance, to help us wash away what no longer serves our greatest good, and to make room for what we are ready to receive. The ceremony is being sponsored by Purring Oaks, amidst the lush nature of our 62 rolling acres. The earth, the trees, and the spring-fed ponds are all part of the sacred container. We encourage you to be barefoot on the land if it feels right!(note poison ivy- so be safe!)

The Day Unfolds Slowly

  • Doors open at 9:30 — arrive and settle in 10:30 am — ceremony (It will be a punctual start. Please don’t be late)

  • Late afternoon - early evening — open time on the land, gift exchange on the picnic blanket, swim/sauna/shower, rest

  • Evening — communal potluck feast and offering plate for the land

  • The Feast: We ask everyone to bring a savory dish to share for a wholesome summertime feast together after the ceremony! Think hearty salads, roasted vegetables, grains and proteins, fresh fruit, and healthy snacks. We are keeping this feast healing and nourishing rather than indulgent, so please hold the sweet treats for another day! Label your dish so that everyone knows what you brought.

Cooling herb and fruit waters will be available throughout the day.

Our cozy infrared sauna and guest shower are open to guests all weekend long! (If you jump in the pond, please make sure to shower BEFORE using the sauna.)

Overnight stays — limited, must RSVP: A small number of overnight spots are available for those who want to stay Saturday-Sunday and let the ceremony integrate. (If you bring your own gear you are welcome to camp separately, but you still have to RSVP. on the Contact form in our About Page)

  • 2 deluxe tipi tents (glamping on the land)

  • 2 indoor rooms (must be okay with cats)

  • 1 shared bedroom (two twins)
